All you need to do is to conduct a search inside LinkedIn to discover these groups. Then, inside the groups, look for the individuals or companies who could be your clients. Then, get connected and begin to network.

At first glance, you will not be able to get connected to another individual if you don’t know him/her personally. However, the good news is if you are at the same group, you can send invitations to get connected. Now, it’s up to the invitees to decide if they want to connect to you. What does urge them to give you the green light? Your Profile!

At LinkedIn, the platform is well-prepared for B2B marketing. You need to decorate your profile with all it takes to attract your potential clients.

Make Sure Your Profile Is Attractive

To have an attractive profile on LinkedIn, you have to have the maximum “completeness”, appealing textual content that invites others to connect, feeds explaining what you’re doing, links to your site, blog, and other social media like Twitter, Facebook, etc.

Some people don’t take the risk of being rejected when they plan to make new connections. They want to be sure you would say “Yes” to their invitation.So, provide such assurance at your profile for them.

You can also add a slide to your profile that explains what you’re doing or how you’re helping others in their businesses. Such slide could have a lot in it to completely introduce you and your business. You should make the best use of such slides at your profile.

You can use the available application to bring your SlideShare slides to LinkedIn for the purpose of business to business marketing and introducing your products and services using images, text, etc.

Steps to Take at LinkedIn Groups

It’s not enough to just join a group and add it to your list. It’s not useful to join a lot of groups without networking in them either. What you need to do is to find a few highly targeted groups that are very much likely to have the same target audience you’re looking for first. Then, you should do the following:

  1. Post useful content at the groups,
  2. Comment on the content of others,
  3. Like the contents or comments by clicking on “like”,
  4. Answer the comments,
  5. Follow the discussions if they’re worth it,
  6. Reply privately if you think it’s necessary,
  7. Go to the publishers’ blog/site and have a thorough look,
  8. Subscribe to their blogs and continuously participate it them actively,
  9. Be proactive and put forward questions in “Discussion” or “Poll”,
  10. Lead your audience to the need that requires your service or product,
  11. Offer your help, professional advice, tips, solutions, etc,

As you can see, it’s all about giving away, caring and offering what you can do for them without using a promotional language. LinkedIn can be powerfully used for B2B marketing, but it doesn’t mean that you should go out there and advertise what you have to offer.

Important Note:

You’re not there to sell unless someone wants to buy. In other words, you’re not supposed to enter the discussions to sell what you’ve got to sell. People will buy from you only if they see you’re an expert with the right product or service and reasonable price. In that case, you won’t have to tell them. They will ask you for it!
